Our expertstaff come from a variety of backgrounds, training, and experience, including law enforcement, martial arts, military, and actual “street” combat. We take a comprehensive personal protection approach that emphasizes powerful yet simple techniques. Programs cover situational awareness to identify and avoid potential threats and developing a proper mindset to take action. We offer Women’s Self Defense, Basic Self Defense, Bully Prevention, Active Shooter (workplace violence), Home Protection and Safety and VPM (Violent Patient Management). These programs involve practical physical training and mental mindset preparation so you have a Complete Self Defense course of action. Nannette Long is a Third Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and a former Florida State Sparring Champion and certified instructor. She has also studied Judo and Jujitsu and received advanced training in Violent Patient Management, Disruptive Student Management, and Sexual Harassment And Rape Prevention (S.H.A.R.P.), which she has been teaching in Brevard for six years. Nannette’s passion is to empower women to defend themselves in any situation and has tailored her knowledge and experience into a powerful, dynamic self defense program. Mark Mynheir is a twenty-five year law enforcement veteran and former Marine. With over thirty years of training in multiple martial arts disciplines, he is also a Florida State certified Police Defensive Tactics Instructor and has trained recruits at the police academy as well as officers in the field. Mark is a former S.W.A.T. Team member and homicide detective and shares his extensive knowledge of crime trends and criminal behavior to help students with situational awareness and personal protection concepts.

BASIC SELF DEFENSE
Our Basic Self Defense program focuses on:
Situational awareness and the mindset preparation needed for dealing with conflict. Powerful techniques specifically designed to maximize natural body mechanics are used to defeat an attacker, regardless of size or strength.
This course is for anyone who would like to increase their knowledge of self defense and be able to face any situation with boldness and self confidence.
Cost is $35 per person.
Class size is a minimum 15 students.
Length of class is 3 hours but can run a little longer depending on the class needs.

WOMENS SELF DEFENSE
This hands on class is designed to empower women through:
1. Self Defense through awareness and mental preparation.
2. Drilling simple yet powerful techniques that can be executed in a variety of situations. 3. Developing a “warrior spirit” to fight 100% when necessary and to win.
The course is based upon the SHARP (Sexual Harassment And Rape Prevention) program. The skills taught are designed to be easy to learn, efficient, and extremely powerful. Various scenarios are employed to reinforce the practical application of the techniques in “real world” situations. The finale is putting your skills to work on an instructor in full protective gear—and to be victorious!
Class is $45 per person and has a minimum of 20 students and a maximum of 50 students. Length of time is 6 1⁄2 hours but can run a little longer depending on the needs of the class.
VIOLENT PATIENT MANAGEMENT or VPM is a PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics) training based on years of research and experience into the risks health care providers face from violent and potentially violent patients. The class provides a foundation for equipping health care professionals with the proper and most effective techniques specifically suited for the medical and home-care environments. PPCT techniques have been medically researched for the health and safety of the staff as well as the patients.
The mission of the training covers three points:
1. A use of force training system that is simple to learn.
2. Techniques and strategies that are effective in the field.
3. Practical applications that minimize the potential for injury for the patients and the providers.
This class is $45 per person and is an average of 3 hours long. There is a minimum of 10 people required to have a class and it is done at your facility or location.
WORKPLACE VIOLENCE/ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING:
The Complete Self Defense Group provides multifaceted training to address the ever increasing issue of violence in the workplace. Topics covered include, identifying an at-risk employee and/or patron, precursors to violence, lessons learned from case studies, preparing a security plan, assessing and securing the building, as well as practical tips and techniques following the Department of Homeland Security guidelines for active shooter incidents — escape, hide, and when absolutely necessary, fight.
Two hour course - $400 without Basic Self Defense technique instruction.
Basic Self Defense instruction $30 per person.
